There’s always something fun going on at AIHS! Whether it’s trivia nights, murder mystery nights, local DJs in the student bar, cultural excursions, sporting events, or tours of Canberra and its surrounds, you’ll enjoy a thriving social life both on-and off-campus. Besides a multitude of on-campus activities and events, there’re always off-campus excursions and activities being planned. Should you choose, you’ll also be able to take trips with your fellow students to explore different parts of the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.
Our close-knit community of students come from all corners of the globe. Students work, study and socialise together and enjoy close relationships.
AIHS’s unique location, in the heart of the Australian capital, Canberra, also means that students have easy access to loads of great restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, galleries, museums, and sporting facilities to enjoy when not working or studying.
AIHS’s educational philosophy places the emphasis on the individual. We understand that many of our students face unique challenges as they commence their studies with us, with many having travelled from overseas or interstate to a new and unfamiliar city.
New students will be guided through their transition by an Orientation program, conducted in the week prior to classes commencing. Senior students serve as ambassadors, available throughout the week to arrange local tours, showing new students where to shop, eat and enjoy their leisure hours. Students also receive ongoing pastoral care, which focuses on personal needs and interests, as they settle into their new life at AIHS.
We look forward to welcoming you in person to our international community on the AIHS campus, where we strive to make each student feel at home.
