Sport and Recreation
A small Gym is available on campus for the use of students. There is a courtyard which has been set up for Badminton and an area which can be utilised for a social game of soccer, kickball and other recreational activities.
The AIHS is in walking distance to Tennis Courts and to the Manuka Pool. While the AIHS has a block booking at the local Tennis Courts each Friday afternoon between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm, the opportunity to hire the courts over the weekend or mid week also exists.
Students can participate in a range of off campus competitions such as basketball, volleyball, baseball and football.
For the real sports fanatic, Canberra is home to the Australian Institute of Sport. The use of the AIS Swimming Complex, Tennis Courts and other sporting facilities is available. Please view the AIS Website for additional information: www.ausport.gov.au.
For those interested in watching rather than participating, Canberra is home to a number of national sporting teams including the Brumbies and the Canberra Raiders.
Only a short walk away is Manuka Oval which hosts the Annual Prime Ministers’ XI Cricket Match. Manuka Oval is also a prime venue for many sporting events occurring in Canberra.
The Campus also offers indoor activities such as Pool and Snooker, Table Tennis and Foosball.
