Graduate Certificate in Hotel Management

The Graduate Certificate in Hotel Management program is a balanced portfolio of subjects and experiences, focusing on the knowledge and management skills needed to excel in the industry. This course is designed to grant degree level students a deeper understanding of the theory side of the business behind the industry and to then reinforce it with practical experience. The Certificate’s goal is to establish students with a thorough foundation of knowledge and to prepare them to proceed further into our postgraduate qualifications.

The one-year program consists of two six-month semesters. The first semester encompasses four academic subjects complemented with a structured training program, of 20 hours per week, within the AIHS’ commercially operated Hotel Kurrajong. The second semester allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical environment. Students undertake a fully paid work based industry placement within Australia or overseas providing valuable practical hands-on experience in the hospitality and tourism industry.

This balanced approach to study makes AIHS graduates highly sought after throughout the world.
